Miss Rachael started dancing at GDC in 2000 at the age of 10. With a background in gymnastics and Dalcroze Eurythmics, Dance was the perfect place to combine her passion for music and movement with acrobatics. Rachael continued to train throughout high school in ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, musical theater, cheer and gymnastics representing GDC and Monte Sant Angelo in many Eisteddfods, festivals, competitions and musicals. In 2008 Rachael studied to be a group fitness trainer and completed a mentorship program ‘Finishing First’ at fitness first specialising in Bodyjam, a dance fitness program. During this time she taught many classes at GDC under the guidance of Miss Penny Houston (previous owner) with a focus on body conditioning, strength and increasing cardio vascular endurance in her students. From 2009-2012 Miss Rachael completed a Bachelor of Dance Education and became a qualified K-12 teacher of Pdhpe and Dance. This degree gave Miss Rachael a thorough understanding of child development, educational psychology, biomechanics/anatomy, dance history and safe dance practice. Rachael loves musical theater and has been involved in many productions including; Lane cove Theater company (Gondwana-performer), Mosman Musical Society (Guys and Dolls – Choreographer) and (A Night on roadway – Performer), Willoughby Theater Company (Legally Blonde – Delta Nu) and (Catch me if you can – Dancer) A highlight of Miss Rachael’s performance career was as a professional NRL cheerleader for the Paramatta Eels in 2014 and 2015, in the role of vice captain and music editor (sound designer). From 2013-2018 Rachael ran up to 8 GLEE clubs at primary schools in the Northern Suburbs for Teaching Services Australia, becoming very experienced in arranging musical theater songs for children, piano accompaniment and stage production. Rachael completed Module 1 and 2 acro teacher training with Acrobatic Arts in 2016 and became a registered teacher in classical ballet with the Southern Federation of Dance in 2017 through which Greenwich Dance students have received exceptional results in their exams.
